This episode was WOAH. I have so much to say and I am so excited!

The episode last week was good... VERY good, but this one was fantastic and I cannot wait for the finale now. I know I will suffer for a year, waiting for it to come back, but WOW what a season we had so far...

Tormund, you are my favorite

Okay let's start with the review:

I don't have a lot of Suits fan on my flist (I have to fix that because I need to talk about this show) so I rarely post about it, but last night episode was quite good, a lot of interesting things happened, so I decided to share my thought about it.

After an episode like that I cannot just move on with my life and give my attention to the next thing. I need to talk about this!

I've been commenting on the episode with some friends over text messages and I'm glad to say we were all very impressed with it. I cannot wait for Eric to get home so he can see it too and have his mind blown!

Here some random thoughts and theories (?) from yours truly:

Okay. I am writing this post right after the last one, but I will post it tomorrow because I don't want to make too many posts in one day, especially since the last one was quite dry. If you missed it: HERE is a full on summary of my 2017 so far.

My last official random update post was posted on the 17th of July and it was written in ah hotel room in Jacksonville, FL, right after I came back from the USCIS offices and they took my biometrics 3 days prior to my scheduled appointment (they are so nice, I didn't even have to use my pregnancy as an excuse).

Random gif because I love these 2...

This is what happened after that:

♨ (18th of July) I was hoping on a good journey back to Italy since the one to Jacksonville was a disaster (you know, fainting and stuff) but 5 hours prior to my first connection I receive an email from Airfance that says to me that my New York-Paris (second flight of 3) has been cancelled due to I'll never know what reason. So I ran to the airport and I go to the Delta chiosk and show them the email. They didn't know about the flight and the poor girl at the counter had to stay on the phone for 20 minutes in order to receive confirmation of the cancellation. I felt quite powerful knowing stuff before them LOL. The Delta girl changed my itinerary and my new connection was in for DAMN ATLANTA where I have to run not to lose my connection...AS BLOODY ALWAYS!!! Running in the airport is never fun but running while over 6 months pregnant is awful! I won't deny it I was mostly upset of this change because, when I checked in the day before, I managed to get some awesome seats... luckily the Atlanta/Paris one was not too bad, but just because the plane was half empty... But I could not sleep due to my seat, and that was a problem since I had to spend 7 hours in Paris to get to my connection and last flight to Genova. I was a mess when I finally got home on the 19th as you can imagine!

The first ob/gyn appointment on the 20th was very good! The Doctor is AMAZING and very thorough. We like him. Baby Christopher played shy as he did at his first appointment with the Doctor in the US, and he didn't want to show his face, but the Doctor checked everything and he said everything looks great, and there's no need to see me every 2 weeks but we can continue seeing each other once a month. He prescribed some blood/urine tests because in Italy they test your blood every month (while int he US just the urines) and because we found out my Doctor in the US didn't get me tested for some stuff she should have had, like Toxoplasmosis, CMV, Thyroid ... So he was able to see that my iron levels are VERY low (he prescribed some pills) and that my thyroid is in range, but a little bit high so here it comes another pill. Low Iron and an high Thyroid can get you in trouble in the delivery room as you can have an severe bleeding and an higher chance to suffer of postpartum depression. My dislike for the american health system makes me think the doctors want you to go through that, so they can make more money out of your insurance (I'm very bitter on the matter). So if you want to get pregnant and have an healthy pregnancy ask your Doctor to check your Thyroid and Iron levels often! (If your Thyroid is high you risk miscarriages or not to get pregnant) My next appointment is in a week and I cannot wait to see Baby Chris again! I'll make an update about him as soon as I am out of the Doctor office. I always get nervous before that... He kicks like crazy, so I know he's okay, but I want to see him, and I want the Doctor to say he is fine! -9 weeks and 5 days to the day I'll be able to actually see him and hold him... It's so exciting and terrifying at the same time!

Eric left yesterday for the one an only guest trip the boat is going to have this season and he'll be back home by the end of the month! He will leave me again in September to go visit his mother and take over his step dad with the daily care she needs! Things are getting problematic over there at the moment. She has 3 sons but they all have busy lives and she needs a lot of care, but she doesn't want a nurse. Her husband (76 years old) is a cancer surviver and has some pretty bad health issues (his hands shake like crazy and I think he has RA) and he has to help her with everything. She has Parkinson and also some very bad issues with her digestive system (she had to go through a lot of surgeries when younger, and the scar tissue creates a lot of problems to her bowel now). Plus she broke her hip 2 years ago and refused PT so now she goes around with a scooter... that was a big mistake, because she now sits all day in front of the TV and her muscles are wasting... So her husband has to carry her to the bathroom and help her with everything in there, cook her meals, put together and break down the scooters every time she wants to go out for dinner or shopping,... I hope Eric will convince her to get a nurse (they all have tried for years but she starts crying and they back off) because it's not fair on her husband and, in the end, you don't want your kids to see you as a chore... I remember when my grandmother was sick... it ruined our memories of her and it was so sad... I mean, it was not a problem to go and take care of her, but her Dementia changed her and the way we experienced her, and it was painful! I would hate for Eric to go through that...

♨ Now that Eric is away on a trip I have a busy schedule ahead of me. I have a lot of friends I have to spend some quality time with. With Eric is always difficult because he does not speak Italian and my friends (most of them) don't speak English, so I always end up translating, and trying to divide myself between them and him... So far I've only seen a couple of them and there are so many thing we have to catch up on. Flavio and her girlfriend broke up and the police had to intervene (her fault) Ilaria's parents are splitting up, Enrico is still looking for a job, Valentina A. Valentina B. and Daniela are pregnant (Daniela was the one who lost the baby a year ago due to malpractice when she was 7 months preggo... Very sad story),... So much to catch up with!

Stitchers, Suits and Game of Thrones are doing GREAT imho! I am loving this Summer Season!

♨ Eric and I are reading together the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo Saga and we're in the middle of book 3! Stieg Larsson is amazing! Every Swedish author I encountered so far in my readings gave me chills... They know what they're doing!

So that's it for now. I have so many ideas for my next posts and I know I promised my POV on the 13th Doctor but I wrote so much about it in comments that I feel like I have nothing more to say... I will probably try to write a post about it after finish this one and put it in a queue so I can post it in a couple of days (I make no promises). I also want to write about GoT and what I hope will happen next... I think I need to make some TV posts every now and then... Also I was thinking about go back to do my Flist Firdays (where I ask you questions) and do a What I Have Learned sort of post once a month, where I can give some insight on USCIS stuff, Pregnancy Stuff and Differences between Italy and the US,... That would be fun I think... Some photo posts would be fun too... Also I need to go back posting my book reviews... So much to do!!! LOL!

I hope your weekend was great! <3

This season of Game of Thrones has been quite good one so far and I expect a lot more from the next episodes.

I don't know how many of you are up to date so I will put all my thoughts about what we've seen so far and what I am hoping to see this season (or on the next one) under a cut.

thefridayfive on a Saturday...

But before a quick note:

Sorry I've been MIA for a while now but Eric is home and we're trying to get as much as we can done, he'll be leaving tomorrow so I will have more time to answer properly to your posts and to - why not - post some sort of update! Thank you <3

1) What famous landmarks have you visited?
I've been all over the place thanks to my job and the fact that in Europe is pretty easy to travel with a low budget.
Europe: Eiffel Tower (France), Louvre (France), Palace of Versailles (France), Colosseum (Italy), The Roman Forum (Italy), Amalfi Coast (Italy), Il Duomo di Milano (Italy),  Big Ben (UK), Buckingham Palace (UK), The Tower of London (UK), Sagrada Familia (Spain), Park Güell (Spain),...
USA: The Statue of Liberty (NYC), Empire State Building (NYC), Independence Hall (Philadelphia), Chimney Rock (North Carolina), New Orlean's Garden District (Louisiana), Fort Jefferson (Florida),... Also google says Disney Parks are landmarks so I visited the ones in Orlando and the one in France :)

2) How has travel affected you?
It makes me feel good and energized! :)

3) What are the best souvenirs you’ve ever collected while traveling?
Memories and Pictures! I usually don't buy things... Sometimes Tee Shirts if I'm traveling with my friends...

4) What is your fantasy vacation?
I'd like to visit China, move to Japan and then to Australia and New Zeland... One after the other...

5) Would you want to be a space tourist?
Where do I sign?

During the past few weeks I did a couple of friending memes, and one of the questions they usually ask is about your fandoms and your ships, and I always strugle because I have so many...
So I decided to do a list of all the shows I follow now and I followed in the past and to make a list of my ships.
They are a lot, but I'm sure I'm forgetting some of them... Like the very old ones I was watching when I was in my teens. I wasn' very into TV when I was young... I started to really watch it when I descovered House, so when I was ~19/20!

This list is in alphabetical order. I'm going to try to keep it updated as much as I can.
The Complete ListCollapse )
2016

  • ADDED SHOWS: The Night Manager, Houdini & Doyle, Suits, Stranger Things, Forever, Haters Back Off, The Crown, Superstore, Westworld, Dirk Gently's Holisitic Detective Agency, Medici: Masters of Florence

  • REMOVED SHOWS: Fargo, Conviction, Man with a Plan, Shadowhunters, Timeless

  • ADDED SHIPS: Harvey/Donna (Suits), Mike/Rachel (Suits), Jo/Henry (Forever), Miranda/Patrick (Haters Back Off), Amy/Jonah (Superstore), Cosimo/Contessina (Medici)

I always want to do posts about TV (since I live out of that box), but I never do... I used to in the past, but then I stopped... Maybe it9;s time to start again??? I don't know if this is the case, but I wanted to share my thoughts about the last episode of Doctor Who...

Before I start I know you know I don't like Moffat for A LOT of different reasons and that I LOVE Peter... It's thanks to him I kept watching the show, and I am going to miss him when he's gone! I think his Doctor is excellent! Anyway... I am enjoying this season... I am still scared it's going to go down the toilet, but so far I am enjoying the show again, and this makes me happy!

I like Bill. I didn't like her at first from the promo they showed us months ago, back then I thought she could not handle the serious/sad/touching parts of the show (that are always my favorite thing), but the last episode started to prove me wrong (YAY). And I was not very convinced before The Pilot because of the big deal BBC made of her being gay... I am 100% on board with her being gay, don't get me wrong, what I'm not okay with is the BBC wanting to make a big announcement before the show started to get people talk about the show. I understand the fact the network is selling a product, but I feel a little bit sad that they think that to get us talking/get excited about something they have to use our sexuality or something that is still classified as "controversial". To me Bill is a person, she can sleep with whomever she likes, pray whatever, vote for who cares,... She is still a human being... When I go out and someone wants to introduce me someone they know they just say his/her name and then I get to know them, I don't receive a text a week before saying he/she's gay or straight... I simply get to know the person... So I was a little bit upset when she said right away, in a silly monologue at the beginning of the premiere, that she liked girls... I would have like it to come out in a more natural way,... But this is me!

Going back to the episode 10x02 here are my thoughts:spoilers: Doctor Who 10x02 SmileCollapse )

What do you guys think about the new season and the new companion?

I'm here!

I'm not planning to leave any time soon and I'm in the frame of mind I am going to go when/if they show me the door, but not before that!

I just realized I commented a couple of post, but I've never made a post about my staying, so here I am! If I have to be honest, the new policy didn't scare me a bit... This might be alarming as in there are so many scary things happening right now that this isn't even in the "moderately afraid" pile.

I have a Dreamwidth Account just for back up reasons only, but I'm not planning to go over there like at all for now! I am doing it just so that I can have a back up of all the lovely conversations I had with you guys... But, if something goes wrong with LJ, I don't think I'm going to post over there, but I'm sure we'll find a way to stay in touch... (on my main page there are links to my facebook/instagram/youtube/... accounts) but feel free to add me on DW as I am adding you, because I know myself and I might change my mind!

Life is sort of crazy right now and I am not spending a lot of time around here, but I hope to come back and be more active soon!

A random update is long over due, so here it is...

Just let me say this first: Dear Beauty and the Beast franchise, here, take all my money, this is my wallet, this is my bank account number, just take it... Just give me my dignity back... Because I'm 30 years old and I can't cry at the movies like that for a Disney Movie (I can do it at home any time, but NOT at the movies) I just can't.

Okay, now that this is out of my system... before I spend the evening obsessing over Dan Stevens (I fell for the guy when I saw him on Legion to be honest with you... I mean, you know me... crazy skinny guys? I just have to go there), let me tell you a little bit about my life at the moment.

☾ As you can tell from the title I'm at war with a woodpecker who's annoying the whole neighborhood, pecking like he's on crack or something! We don't have a bug problem, but he just looooooves insulation material, and he's having the time of his life pulling it out, and having a laugh! Thing is... he's a beautiful bird so, I feel bad hating him so much! So, now he pecks and I knock on the wall to make him stop, and then I see him going to the neighbors and then - in 30 minutes - he's back, and we start our dance all over again!

☾ Today I had a pretty good day. I had coffee with my friend/former realtor Winnie, we ended up chatting for 2 hours no stop. Next time we're going to be more active, and go do one of these painting classes where they offer wine and cheese and you pretend you're there because you feel like creating!

☾ After coffee, I went for a bike ride and I went to get some sushi for lunch. There was a lot of people in front of me and the place is not that big. A girl came in after me and, since she was alone as I was, I asked if she wanted to join me if I got a table... It seemed such a waste to sit on a big table alone while people were going hungry. We ended up talking for an hour and an half, and we had a great lunch! At the end of it I said "that was fun, it was like a surprise blind date" and we had a final laugh. That was fun and it felt nice!

I have to vent on one stupid thing! Is it just me or it's THE MOST ANNOYING THING EVER when you are walking/biking and someone pass by on a car and honks or shouts a "complimet"? THANK YOU A$$H0LE, NOW THAT YOU APPRECIATED ME, I FEEL SO GOOD! GO FU*K YOURSELF! Thing is... in Italy, it happens too, but I yell back or i give them the finger... I can't do it here because WHAT IF THEY HAVE A GUN? I hate it! And it happens all the time! I just wish I could answer and shut them up!

☾ And I just want to talk a little about Beauty and the Beast so SPOILER FREE: I loved it! It was so damn good, and I did cry real tears, not internet tears! Everything was perfect... Once Upon a Time sort of ruined Belle and "the Beast" for me, I forgot how good the real thing was... Eric never saw it and doesn't know the story (he lived under a rock) so it's going to be fun showing it to him... and nowSPOILERSCollapse )
☾ Also I have another secret that will be revealed soon! :D I know you hate me for this LOL!

Okay! That was a big one! I am going to go start Downton Abbey so I can enjoy some more Dan Stevens (and I need to see this show otherwise my friends will stop talking to me) and wait for amazon to put the DVD/BLU-RAY on sale/pre-sale! I want like 30 copies! I can't wait to see all the extras... I'm still hoping in an extra scene like in Pride and Prejudice (2005) at the end! :D Remember, when Darcy and Lizzie decide how to call one another now that they're married... Maybe we can have a scene with Belle and the Prince talking about something! xD
