flist friday: the worst question anyone could ask...
Hello guys!

Sorry, last week I've missed FList Friday! I've been very bad and I should make amend by asking you the WORST QUESTION EVER!

Well, it's not the worst one... the worst ones are the questions you get asked when you see some members of you family after a long time (usually at Christmas) and they ask you:
(if you are in school) How's school?
(if you are out of school) Are you dating someone?
(if you are daring someone) When are you guys going to get married?
(if you are married) When are you going to have kids?

It's like you can't do anything right!

So my question is:

What are you doing for New Year's Eve?

I told you it was bad!

I am doing absolutely NOTHING! I hate NYE and I'm never going to change my opinion about it... You feel like you have to have the best of times and you never do! I tried go clubbing, dinner with friends in restaurants, dinner with friends at someone's place, parties at my place, drive all over the city just because the streets were empty and gas was not that pricy, spent it with my family, spent it with strangers, spent it with a lot of people, spent it with a few,... I was so happy when I was working on that night... So I could say "oh, no sorry, I'll be working, yes, I know... it sucks... maybe next year?"!

That's why I left Italy before it! So I could do nothing! I hope you had better experiences and this question is not as bad as it is for me! The only thing I can say is I'm glad this year is almost gone! Welcome 2017... You have to do very little in order to be better than your precedessor! So take it easy :)

Sorry. Now I have to go cry in that corner because this gif of Rose is too painful and I don't know why I'm doing this to myself!

  • flist friday: i will go down with this ship

I feel randomly romantic today so the question for the flist friday today is ship related! I had so many questions related to this topic but I tried…

  • flist friday: f is for food

As you know I am Italian, so good food is pretty important in my life... Like, I honestly get upset when I go to an Italian restaurant in the US…

I will have a low-key dinner with my family, do some reading (and fail finishing book 37 before midnight), watch TV, make some LJ entries, watch Skam with my niece, watch the fire-works outside at midnight. Perhaps a film too.

I hope 2017 is good to you :D :D

I'm going to a Tarantino-themed party, but haven't decided if I'll dress up or not...I also don't like fancy things at NYE and to be honest this isn't different from what I'd normally do: it's dinner (the place is a dive bar type of place) and then drinks and see some live music.

Have a great NYE!

Haha my NYE is sitting at home watching movies and having snack food - going out sounds so awful (and it always sucks when I've tried). Happy New Year :)

I am going to a party (well, more like a small get-together) at a friend's house. It's been a while since we've all hung out, so it should be fun. Happy New Year! Hope your NYE is good. =)

I hate NYE too, it's the most overrated holiday/day of the year. We're staying in and doing nothing much at all.

I usually pretty much ignore it, or spend it writing blog posts about what I want to do the following year. But this year I got invited to a party that pretty much my entire theatre family is going to be at, so I figured I would go along for a bit. Several of my close friends are like me and don't drink at all, so I don't mind going when I won't be the only sober one. The friend I'm driving in with agrees that once we've watched the 9pm fireworks it will be time to go home to bed, and I am okay with that.

I'm going out for NYE, and usually try to do something that night, since my birthday is the next day, and most people are usually hung over and don't want to do anything on my actual birthday :P
This year I'm going to Dueling Pianos at a bar downtown SF. I went there a couple years ago and it was SO MUCH FUN!! :D

Your new year sounds very nice and quiet! I think I'm going to the pub as my friends birthday falls on NYE :)

Your new year sounds nice, and I hope that 2017 will be good to you ♥

I DO NOTHING ON NYE TOO!! I hate going anywhere on this day! Everyone thinks it's such a huge deal but it's always a disappointment or busy or you can't get home. Besides - I've a great view of fireworks from my house!

I'm also doing nothing on New Years Eve. I've never celebrated it. I only stay up to listen to the fireworks (because otherwise they would wake me up regardless, lol), but other than that I don't do anything special. It's just a regular day for me. I don't even do resolutions or anything of that nature.

I'm doing absolutely nothing too :D I am so very sore anyway, so even if I had plans they would have been cancelled lol. Enjoy your night doing nothing! xx

I'm just going to relax with the family and some wine and champagne! Doing stuff on New Years... Meh. Staying home is good with me.

Y'ouch, rough questions. :P

(if you are in school) How's school? Awesome. Finished last year. :P
(if you are out of school) Are you dating someone? Yup. Coming up on... 7 years?
(if you are daring someone) When are you guys going to get married? *shrug*

Happy New Year!
We're spending it at home in air con (it's sweaty weather, and is past 8pm :|), gaming and drinking random Bundaberg drinks (currently a peach one for me, ginger beer for Zach) and vodka cruisers. :D

I feel the same about NYE. Like I want it to be fun like in movies and stuff but it just isn't. My entire family isn't even here so that's probably why it's never all that fun. I hope you have a good one though!

I'm glad we friended each other this year!!

I am in Salt Lake City of course for this NYE. When my friend gets home from work, I think we're going to play board/card games. Low-key, just easy and fun. I'm fine with that. I've done the big parties, I've done the small parties. I occasionally experience FOMO when I do smaller things, but really, at the end, the big party versus small party...I just end up talking to people in smaller group settings anyway. I'm an INFJ through and through.

Happy New Year!

I'll tell you what I did, which was nothing! I cooked a meal in the morning, and then went to my parents to hang out and do laundry. I stayed overnight.

(if you are out of school) Are you dating someone?
No, and pretty content about it. :)

What are you doing for New Year's Eve?
Spent it with the family on St Simons. We ate out for dinner (are you familiuar w/ Blackwater Grill or the Redfern Villiage area?) and then played poker till midnight. :)
Ery-chanerychan86 on January 6th, 2017 08:10 pm (UTC)
LOL the dreadful questions that family members asks! Did someone asked you about you dating life? Gosh, I hate when it happens! Now, the question they are asking me is: what is going to be your next job... I DON'T KNOW!!! OMG!

You were in SSI? Oh! I might come up next week to visit some family! Are you going to be there??? yeah, Redfern Village... it's on Frederica Rd after the roundabouts right? I've never eaten at the Blackwater Grill, but I've hears is pretty tasty!!!
Driver Picks the Musicbatmarg on January 12th, 2017 10:09 pm (UTC)
Not this year. I get that more with church people and clients. My family is pretty close-knit.

I MAY be in SSI again this weekend, but it'll probably be next weekend. I'm scooting up to Myrtle Beach w/ a friend the 14th for a concert, but since I'm meeting her in Savannah, it's a quicker drive from SSI anyways so it depends on when my parents want to go.

Yeah. Its near the roundabout. There are several good places to eat in Redern. I don't enjoy Blackwater Grill as much as I did with the original owner (who we learned after we started eating there was a neighbour of ours from up the street) & chef, but it's still pretty good. My favorite places to eat on the island are Southern Soul BBQ (the one on the roundabout), Sal's Pizzaria, and (,when we can afford it,) Delaney's. Sal's & Delaney's are down closer to the movie theatre.

I love Sal... I really like CJ's too (down the Village) but Bubba Garcia it's my favorite <3 I love mexican food <3
Driver Picks the Musicbatmarg on January 16th, 2017 10:37 pm (UTC)
We still haven't tried CJ's.

Bubba's is awesome. We either eat there or Gnat's right before we leave for home on Sundays basically every time we go down.
