july ask me anything meme, day 4 (july 4th)
Did you guys see the GoogleDoodle of the day? So CUTE!!! With all the Stars celebrating!!! The hubby asked "What's going on with the Ku Klux Klan rally in the background?" LOL, silly hubby! These stars are waiting for their Hot Dogs... Awwww! Back to business now!

orangerful asked me: 3 random things that drive you crazy about the U.S.

I've been in Italy for 2 days now, and so many things already rubbed me in the wrong way/annoyed me that I can't think about anything I don't absolutely love and miss about the U.S. right now! So I'm going to have to really think about it!

1. Right on Red. I'm a biker and a pedestrian first. I use the car too, but I love to walk and bike to places if they're not that far... Americans, and especially the people that install traffic lights, like their cars and they don't care about the needs of a pedestrian as WE NEED TO GET SOMEWHERE TOO... So, if you have to cross one of the main streets (I'm looking at you, you damn US1) you have to press the button, and wait for the green man to appear... the only problem is: it takes that thing FOREVER to do what you're asking it to do! And when it gets green (and in the meantime you had time to check all your emails and answer them, like Instagram photos, comment on every status on Facebook up to a month prior that, wrote a rant about traffic lights on tumblr, etc) cars are allowed to run you over anyway because there is this rule that you can make a right turn on red! The green light for the pedestrian anyway lasts 20 seconds, so you have to dodge cars and RUN on the other side of the street, because if you don't get there in time, a wall of cars will come and get you!

2. The Cost of Health Insurance and the fact that they'll do whatever it takes not to pay for your crazy expansive Hospital Bills. Luckily I'm healthy and I didn't have to deal with any of this sh!t, but my husband had to in the past (before he met me). He had to go to the hospital to get his appendice removed. They did the surgery and then sent him home but something went wrong and he had to go back and he had to stay in the hospital for 5 days because of a mistake the doctors made. 5 days in the hospital cost >50k $. He was working with his brother and he had self insurance (and he was paying a lot) when the insurance saw the bill they went through their records trying to find an excuse not to pay. And they found it. Eric got a mole removed. It was on his arm and he decided to get rid of it for aesthetics reasons, it was a normal mole, not a melanoma. He never had cancer. And in the insurance forms he said he never did! The insurance said he lied, because they could see he had a mole removed and - if they knew in the first place - they would have never insure him. So, Eric had to pay the bill from his pocket. This insurance costed him money and for what? I hate it! It's so unfair! And me, as a green card holder, I can only self insure myself (or get an insurance through my job) and if I get pregnant (like we're planning to, not now but kind of soon) I'm not covered! And bring a life into this World, with no complications costs 15k $. (if you need a C section 25k $) WHAT?

3. Guns. I mean, why do you even need them in the first place? Just get rid of them!

Bonus: Donald Trump... That guy drives me insane...

My friend bikes to work and I always fear for her life because she has to cross a road with 6 lanes and it freaks me out because people drive too fast anyway, but they never think to watch for bikes!
I risked to be run over even on the bike lane... :(

know so many people that work for small businesses or have to self-insure who have these awful stories. It is just wrong, especially when so much of the rest of the world already does it right!
Maybe one day... It's just I don't think people's health should be controlled by companies that only think about money... For them you're just a bank account... It doesn't matter to them if you paid them every months for years and you had to make sacrifices in order to do it, and then when something happens they say "No, sorry... we wont pay" and they don't even give you back the money they took from you... They should at least have the decency to say: "You don't qualify anymore because we think you lied to us. Your bill was 100.000 $ so far you paid us 60.000$ so we pay the 60k that you gave us and you pay the rest"

I don't understand guns or the people who fight so hard to have them in their homes, I never will.
They see how cool guns are in movies... almost every american action movie has civilians with guns in it... Maybe they think they'll end up in one of these situations they watch on TV... IDK... It just doesn't make sense to me!

I'm glad that also people who lived in America their whole life think this is just insane!!!

There aren't even any bike lanes here! They just assume everyone drives I guess. So ridiculous.
